Although institutional investors continue to chase deals in gateway U.S. markets, there are a number of other cities that offer solid short- and long-term investment opportunities, according to Jay Denton, a senior v.p. at Axiometrics. The firm sees solid short-term prospects in cities that include Las Vegas, Chicago, Sacramento, Nashville, and Portland, and has earmarked Dallas-Fort Worth, San Diego, Phoenix, Atlanta, and Raleigh as markets with good long-term potential.
“There are markets that top our list that normally might not be top performers. But there are fantastic short-term opportunities in some markets that are shining brightly right now,” Denton said.
